Bon Jovi Leads Hot Tours Tally With $31M Earned (And Counting) From Latest Trek
By Bob Allen

Bon Jovi is in familiar territory this week, landing atop the latest Hot Tours tally (see below), a list of the 10 highest-grossing tours based on box office counts reported during the past week. The band’s This House Is Not for Sale Tour through North American markets leads the pack with $31.2 million in revenue earned from shows occurring during the first quarter of 2017. The number of tickets sold totals 359,055 from 23 arena performances during a seven-week time period beginning with the Feb. 8 opener through the end of March.

The North American leg of the tour continued past March 31, however, and included six more performances through April 15. Although sales from those shows have not yet been reported by promoter Live Nation, estimated ticket sales take the overall gross to about $40 million at this point from almost a half-million sold seats.

The best box office results included in this slate of concerts occurred at the final show in the tally: the March 31 performance at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center. Attendance hit 18,673 at the arena with revenue reaching just over $1.7 million.

The tour supports Bon Jovi’s most recent studio album This House Is Not For Sale that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last November. Unlike earlier touring efforts during the past decade — such as 2013’s Because We Can tour that played in six continents — this new tour only includes two legs. The opening trek through the U.S. and Canada that launched in February wrapped in April after a nine-week run. The second leg, set to kick off on Sept. 14 in Chile, will hit five cities in South America before wrapping at the end of that month.
