BON JOVI’S “THE CIRCLE TOUR” ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF “WANTED: A SUPERBAND TONIGHT!” CONTEST
May 11, 2010Lucky Local Acts in Eight North American Cities to Perform Opening Sets at Bon Jovi’s Stadium Concerts This Summer
May 11, 2010 – After weeks of intense competition from thousands of bands across North America, during which more than 3.3 million votes were cast by fans, the winners have finally been chosen for Bon Jovi’s “Wanted: A SuperBAND Tonight!” opening act contest. Thirteen lucky, up-and-coming artists in eight cities across the U.S. and Canada have scored a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—opening for Bon Jovi at one of the GRAMMY Award-winning band’s “The Circle Tour” stadium dates. Winning bands will perform approximately 20 minutes of original music before Bon Jovi, and previously announced special guests, take the stage in front of tens of thousands of fans. Since the “Wanted: A SuperBAND Tonight!” contest launched in early April, fans have kept close watch on the contestants, voting for their favorites and making themselves eligible to win tickets to the concerts in the process. From the fan-ranked list of semi-finalists in each city, a blue ribbon panel from Bon Jovi management, OurStage, and local radio stations picked the ultimate winners for the following concerts:

"The Circle Tour" follows in the wake of the release of the band's 11th studio album, The Circle, which debuted at #1 in numerous countries including the U.S. Globally, the Grammy Award-winning band has sold more than 120 million albums, and performed more than 2,600 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 34 million fans. Bon Jovi's previous run, the hugely successful 2008 the "Lost Highway Tour," was Billboard's top-grossing tour of the year. Bon Jovi’s 10-night run to open the new Prudential Center in Newark, NJ was the #1 Grossing event in 2007 and the #6 grossing event "of all time" in North America according to Pollstar.
