First Bon Jovi show I went to. It was great but, would have been alot better with Ritchie! They are amazing! Really enjoyed concert. Wished they had played ALWAYS, RUNAWAY,BED OF ROSES, BLAZE OF GLORY and HALLELUJAH. We just can't get enough of them! We went and saw Jon in "New Years Eve", he was GREAT! Can't wait to see them again and again and again....
The show had a great set list and was longer than the show in 3/11. It was OK, though more like a JBJ solo than a Bon Jovi show with Richie Sambora's absence. His fill in (Phil X) had adequate guitar skills, NO vocal skills and little stage presence. There was only one brief interaction between Jon & Phil on stage. Dave tried to lighten things by being even MORE upbeat & interactive than usual. The real save goes to Bobby who took on an entirely different persona & played the guitar lead in many songs in an attempt to fill the void & quell the palpable tension. Jon even took lead guitar in a Byrds song. I hope Richie will soon return to health & to the stage where he clearly belongs!
I went to the concert last week at Uncasville and I was very pleased with it. Jon and the band had high energy and it was one hit after another. I had been at the previous show in March which had an unusual set list but both were great. I do take exception with the fan who said that if you didn't know Richie was not there you could not tell. You could tell, Phil X did a great job but there was certainly a diffrence but the band made some changes with Jon playing more ( I like that red guitar he's played at both concerts!) and Bobby contributing more. We will be glad to see Richie next time around. Both concerts were great from the best band eveer!
Interesting and surprising. Setlist, because PRAYER not in the encore, and order of leaving the stage. Jon left first and not last, as usually. I had expected a 2nd encore, but unfortunately there was none.
Awesome show! I thought they played for a good length of time, without ever slowing down. Pure energy all the way through! Look at previous shows' set lists and you'll see the number of songs is always within a few of each other, so I doubt any of those shows were 45 minutes longer either. Yes, the jukebox song was Pretty Woman, and I think the set list is missing a couple of the encore songs too. Have to agree, the guitar solos were awesome! Yes, Richie was missed, but honestly if you didn't know he was supposed to be there, you never would have noticed there were substitutes playing. Also congrats to the opening band, Lakshmi, for giving us high energy sound to start things up, great job!
This was my 15th concert and was slightly disappointed at the length of the concert. 45 minutes shorter than any other concert I have attended. The band did awesome though - guitar solos rocked and some nice tributes to Richie!
Correction.... Tonight's jukebox song was Pretty Woman. With bad medicine ;)
