The guys got me way back in the day when I heard Runaway for the very 1st time on the radio. It took me about 2 days to record a good copy on a cassette from the radio!
I had been a closet Bon Jovi fan since that day up until about 6 years ago... now I don't care who knows it. I wasn't into the hair bands in the 80's, my music scene was more 80's new wave, mode and punk but there was something about Bon Jovi that was different and it was all about the music for me! So... all the albums were bought but I didn't have a record player, so I bought the cassettes as well, then when those were out of style I slowly bought all the cd versions to have my collection, which I donèt play for fear of scratching so in my Ipod they are.
My 1st concert was The Lost Highway tour when they hit Winnipeg after so many years of not being back (who would want to? it's fricken' cold here). I spent a good penny on 7th row tickets but the view of the guys playing and the sound of a live show was an experience I will never forget! So... a few months later I was on a plane to see them play in Vegas at the Hard Rock! Now, that was even more unreal! The intimacy of the place, a bar scene, a kick ass sound, and another awesome performance! At 37 years of age and in pretty good shape, in heels I kept up to the jumping and dancing but I was spent! If youre into it theres nothing like a great work out than a Bon Jovi show... Kudos to Jon, Tito, Richie & Dave for doing it for so many years, show after show and still doing it better than any other band out there and outdoing any fan.
About me... pretty normal, but abnormal in my circle...
I have a somewhat stressful job in the electrical industry, a mans world; but what gets me through the ride to work, ride back, housework, and cooking is my love for Bon Jovi and the happiness that their music brings me!
In my olden days sitting in a nursing home I hope to hell that the music in my room is on full blast and I have days of listening to straight Bon Jovi songs without repeat or the nurses will be in for a whole world of hate.
