The stream gave fans a preview of what to expect as “The Circle Tour” gears up to perform 135 shows in 30 countries throughout 2010-2011.
The free tour launch webcast is just one of many digital online initiatives that Bon Jovi has planned to let fans share the limelight on “The Circle Tour.” The band has also unveiled a unique promotion for their latest single, “Superman Tonight,” in which fans are invited to create their own video for the song by using the innovative suite of tools available at Animoto. Entrants are encouraged to share their videos over social networks, with the most watched weekly winners receiving a Flip Camcorder and the overall contest winner receiving a signed Bon Jovi guitar. Users can just upload their photos and videos or import them through Facebook Connect, add text, pick a song and Animoto takes care of the rest creating a video with the visual energy of a music video. Bon Jovi fans can use the fast, free and easy site(http://www.bonjovi.com/supermantonight), which includes iPhone and Facebook apps, to create storylines and montages for “Superman Tonight.” The band’s official video version of the song premiered earlier this month on VEVO.com and VH1.
Bon Jovi is also using Twitter to engage their “circle” of fans. The band recently teamed up with innovative digital marketing agency Culture Jam Labs to use their new PromoJam technology. Entrants simply tweet to be instantly entered for a chance to win at: http://twitter.bonjovi.com/ The exceptional prizes include as: two tickets to see Bon Jovi live in concert at New Meadowlands Stadium and $1,000 to get there, two $100 gift certificates for bonjovi.com, two $50 gift certificates for bonjovi.com, and four signed copies of the new album.
